Aussie Made Geometric Cushions

Cushions are perhaps, one of the most versatile elements in the home when it comes to decorating. They are small, but powerful tools that help you bring colour and pattern into a space while reinforcing the overall look and feel you have planned for that room. They are relatively inexpensive too, which means they can easily be changed up for each season, or when the mood strikes.

At My Sweet Prints we love geometric patterns as they are gender neutral and can be used in any room in the house, be it the playroom, the family room, your study or even the kid's bedroom. Their bold, repetitious forms lend themselves to both fun casual decor or a more formal space.

To help inspire you, we have collected some fabulous geometric cushion designs handmade by some pretty creative Australian designers.

Happy Monday

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend!

I thought I'd show you one of my latest etsy purchases from the lovely Sarah B's new shop Molly's Maison. You probably know Sarah from her blog already but here is a little background.

Sarah studied a Bachelor of Fine Art at the University of Tasmania majoring in photography but developed a strong interest in wearable art, fashion and jewellery design. Lately she has re-discovered her love for photography. And has started selling her beautiful photos which have a fantastic vintage style in her new etsy shop which you can visit here.

I purchased a set of her beautiful postcards and had to share... look at how beautifully wrapped they came.

Those are little stickers!!! Yay, I love stickers!

Isn't Sarah's photography gorgeous???

How was your weekend? Ours was great catching up with family and friends and we got Will's photo taken with Santa... I've got to go pick up the photos today but here is one I took on my phone. He was a bit wary of Santa and we struggled to get a smile out of him but I think he looks so cute smile or no smile (mummy's bias). Are you getting Santa photos done this year?

Have a great Monday everyone,

A Nautical Theme

Good morning everyone!

I had a lovely email from a fellow etsy and made it seller a few days ago. It was from Beck of Bexpert/Empressionista. She has come up with some gorgeous nautical/maritime themed prints using the International Code Flags.

So this inspired me to put together a nautical themed blog post. I love the nautical look so clean, fresh and a bit preppy and I love nothing more than spending the day or even the week on a boat. Big or small, doesn't bother me, I just love exploring all the little inlets around Sydney and the Hawksbury.

We used to hire a house boat every year with friends and just putter around Cottage Point, Smiths Creek, Refuge Beach and Brooklyn. Having little ankle bitters around has put a hold to our house boat weekends but I'm sure we'll pick them up again when the kids are old enough not to go 'man over board'.

Don't you just love Beck's prints. I think they would look great in a cluster on the wall with the initial of each family member on each print. Or they would look great in a kid's nautical themed bedroom too. Oh and that's my yachting outfit I put together using Polyvore. You like???

You can visit Beck's Etsy shop and Made it shops and check out her other prints, they are all very cool.

Have a great day everyone,

Something that brightened my day

Look at what brightened my day this morning!
My beautifully gift wrapped purchase from McCarthy Designs!

Isn't it gorgeous! If you don't know Nellie and her blog then you must go check it out, along with the shop that she and her husband have started selling beautiful cards with their stunning photography on them.
This is the card I chose.

I thought 'The Old Bakery' was very cool seeing as we are Bakers (surname that is, not occupation). The card is signed and dated on the back by Nellie and she attached a beautiful little card - just so sweet!!!

So thank you so much Nellie! You've made my day and I don't want to use the card as it's too special. I think I will have it on display for a while :)

I may not be blogging for the rest of the week so have a lovely week and weekend everyone!

Yellow finds

I must say I'm not a huge fan of the colour yellow, I think because I look hideous in it ...
(pale skin & blonde hair + yellow = washed out, sick looking)

But I like a little pop of yellow used in interiors to add a sunny, happy atmosphere. So take a look at these pics and finds which I think would achieve that bright sunny spark for your Monday morning!

100% cute

LinkLook at what I found on etsy today. These super adorable hats, wraps and blankets by etsy seller Charbridge Knits.

Their knits are perfect for newborn 'Anne Geddes style' photo shoots. And with most of them priced around the USD$22 mark I think it would make an original gift for new parents.

A big thanks to Joanna at My Mom Shops the terrific blog mention today about my Bedtime Bus Roll Poster. She has a great blog which always makes me very jealous that I don't live in the US to shop at all the cool stores she finds.

Have a lovely Friday everyone,

P.s. I borrowed some DVDs from the library the other day and I've been watching 'Are you being served?'. It's soooooo funny! Very un-PC but very funny.
