Aussie Made Geometric Cushions

Cushions are perhaps, one of the most versatile elements in the home when it comes to decorating. They are small, but powerful tools that help you bring colour and pattern into a space while reinforcing the overall look and feel you have planned for that room. They are relatively inexpensive too, which means they can easily be changed up for each season, or when the mood strikes.

At My Sweet Prints we love geometric patterns as they are gender neutral and can be used in any room in the house, be it the playroom, the family room, your study or even the kid's bedroom. Their bold, repetitious forms lend themselves to both fun casual decor or a more formal space.

To help inspire you, we have collected some fabulous geometric cushion designs handmade by some pretty creative Australian designers.

Graphic Studio or Home Office Design

Bold and graphic colours and patterns are big right now. There's no better place to go bold than your home office or studio. These spaces, usually modest in size and hidden away, so they are perfect for taking a risk and being brave in your design choices. Also the bright colours and graphic designs are sure to inspire you while you work.

Statement pieces like this Dinosaur Designs rug paired with angular furniture are a great way to bring in bold design elements, then add a pop of shocking colour and our If You Can Dream It typographic print and you are set!

Aren't they adorable?

Inspiration: Gorgeous Grey Nursery

While wandering the wonderful world of the web, I stumbled across this gorgeous nursery. It is so simple, so chic and so stylish that I just knew it had to be designed by a Scandinavian, and I was right! They just have such style about them those northerly folk - don't you think!?

The trend, in recent years, of treating a nursery with sophistication and flair gets a big thumbs up from us at My Sweet Prints. This stunning example just goes to show that even without colour and fluff a nursery can be cozy, welcoming and calming - just what you want when that little one arrives!

This Gorgeous Grey Nursery was found on the April and May Mini Blog.

European Inspired Boy's Room for Will

Good morning!
Now that baby B is well and truly on the way we're starting to think about turning the study into Will's new big boy bedroom which we plan to do over Christmas.

So I've created a little moodboard to show you. I'm going to buy a white timber single bed and I've already bought the Esprit Star Galaxy  single bed set and he's already got the big Personalised Canvas World Map. Have I shown you the newest print in my range? It's a french inspired print that reads 'Our Little Man' with a cute little moustache. So I'll do one of them for his room.

The solder skittle set and hot air balloon are both from my lovely stockist Ministyle (I'm yet to order).
And the Jnr Replica Eames DSW chair and the red replica Componibili side table I will get from Matt Blatt.

I think it creates a European, little World Traveler feel.
What do you think? Do you like it?
I think it's a good toddler - young boy style room don't you think?

I'll probably add little extras like a retro clock and I've got to do up the cabinet which will stay in his room.

I'm quite excited about it!

Next up I have to decide what/how much of Will's current room I'll change for the new bubby boy.

Have a great Friday and I'd love to know your thoughts on the moodboard.

Cool idea - driftwood lamp

After all this wild windy weather we've had this week our gumtree has rained branches down all over our front yard.

THIS could be the the perfect use for all those branches!
Pretty clever isn't it!

Colour your day

Here is a little colour to brighten your day!

I love the colours in that rug, the white desk, light and dark frames.

I want to do this, the plates on the wall

Love the bed tucked into that arched nook. The red and turquoise look great together too.

And I LOVE LOVE LOVE the mix of art on this wall and the BRIGHT pink chairs and the great light streaming in.

I don't generally decorate my own home with bright bold colours but I love seeing others do it.

What are you like? Do you embrace the bold or feel more comfortable with neutrals?

Wishing you a bright sunny day,
