Thankful 4: Kind doctors/hospitals

I'm linking up with my lovely friend Lisa from Ledamae in her 'Thankful 4' post today.

Today I am thankful for kind doctors and hospitals.

Last night William had his first bout of croup for the year and we only had a few drops of his croup steroid medication left. So when he woke at 3.30am battling to breath we rushed him to emergency.

He had picked up quite a bit by the time we got there but was still coughing ever other breath. The triage dr who assessed him was so lovely and by the time I had finished filling in the admission form they took us into the children's ER. The doctor there was also really lovely and checked him and gave him medicine.

They have such great facilities in the children's ER and Will was quite taken with the cubby house (how my child has energy to play at 4am when he is coughing his little heart out is beyond me) but he loved it there and it wasn't an awful hospital experience at all.

So that's what I'm thankful for today. What are you thankful for?

I'm off to catch up on some sleep while Will has his day sleep :)

  2. Nothing like a dose of steroids to zip them up at 4am... been there! Glad he's feeling better and that your hospital experience was a good one - as good as it can be when you're a worried mum. A x

  7. Janette, I hope Will is feeling better tonight. We have had those midnight croup dashes to the hospital plus an ambulance one time so I know how scary it is! I definately think it is the change in the weather. Hope you got some rest today xx

  12. Bridget had her first ever Croup recently (Charlotte has never had it) and it was a little bit scary. We rushed her to the Epworth here in Melbourne and while it's expensive, it's wonderful and we didn't have to wait. One dose of steroids and she was fine, thank goodness. Hope little Will is feeling better. Give him a big hug from me..Rachaelxx

  13. Good to hear your little man is ok. This took me back to my now 21 year olds late night bouts of croup - can be quite scary. Nice to know there are good dr's out there.
