I want my long hair back...

Sniff, sniff, booo, hooo... I'm missing my long hair!

Please bare with me here, as I'm having a dilemma...

It's just happened recently that I've started missing my longer locks. But the problem is exacerbated when I read the beautiful blog 'bellaMUMMA' as it seems every gorgeous beauty shot features a model with stunning long hair.

I cut my hair about six months ago when William started pulling my hair continuously and I found all I did was have it tied back everyday and didn't have a lot of time to wash and blow dry with a new bub.

I got it cut into a shoulder length 'Pob' (see profile pic for Exhibit A) and was happy with it until about a month ago (which also coincided with the news that my hairdresser has moved to QLD). I'm due for a hair cut again (a problem with short hair) and find I've just been putting it back into a pony most of the time anyway.

Exhibit B: a pic circa just before falling pregnant with Will.

So what do you think?
What would you do?
Practical shorter hair or impractical longer hair?
Does motherhood mean shorter hair for life?

Hmmm... tough questions for a tuesday morning :-)

Thanks for letting me have my rant.
I hope you have a lovely day - I'm having Mothers Group at my place today!

  1. Oh Janette! I have been in this situation in the past too! Your hair looks beautiful both in both pics! I know for me that shoulder length was the way to go when the girls were little, but once they approached 2.5 - 3 yrs where I could have the time to look after longer hair properly again, I grew it long...then cut it again...then grew it long... hee hee! I am sure that whatever you decide to do, it will look stunning as you have such beautiful hair full-stop! Enjoy your Mothers' Group today:) - Tina

  2. Janette, I hear you. Until I had the boys, I had long hair and I loved it. I growing it again almost a year now and it is still only shoulder length!! It is so tempting to cut it all again, but I am determined to have them as long as Elle Macpherson!!
By the way, you look amazing in the second picture, grow it, it is such beautiful hair.
    Cheers

  3. I think your hair looks lovely both ways Janette but I can definitely relate to your dilema. I have long hair and I too am constantly tying it back to stop Grace yanking it :) Enjoy Mother's Group at your house x
