Enjoying the deck

I have really been enjoying our backyard and sitting out on the deck this last week. I think because I know I better take advantage of the sun and 'not too' cold weather before winter hits.

I took some pics with my new camera quickly on sunday after a lunch we had and thought I'd share them with you today.

This is my dusk chandelier. I filled the centre vase with the same pebbles from our new back pathway and bought some faux peonies to put in the centre.

Here is the new side path that we (Glen) made and a little picket gate to keep Will from wandering round the side and under the deck.

Here is my vase of homegrown roses I had in the middle of the table. They have really opened up now and look stunning. I love using my Grandma's lace table cloth to dress up the table.

And when it gets too chilly we just put the outdoor heater on and roast ourselves :)

Are you enjoying the outdoors? Or rugging up inside?

Have a lovely day,

  1. Too much rain to be out here. We had three really hot days and now it is cold again. It is Spring here. Seems so funny that you are heading into winter. Love your outdoor space.

  2. That's a nice neat little path you've built. At the moment I like to sun myself in the morning outside and then if the wind picks up I like to be inside behind glass to enjoy the sun or snuggled up if there's no sun!

  5. Hi Janette, thanks for your comments today on my blog anniversary. I too feel like I know you. You get to know the regulars. I am hoping that soon we will have a lovely deck like yours to sit on and enjoy the view. It can be all year round with one of the outdoor heaters, they really do the trick in keeping you toasty. Have a great day! ;-)

  6. It looks like a wonderful spot to relax Janette. Those heaters are great. I imagine you'd get a lot more use out of your outdoor space than we would here in Tas. It has been nice enough but a bit chilly so we've motly been inside in front of the woodheater. I do like the cosiness of autumn and winter :)

  7. It's funny, Grace and I have spent lots of time over the past week on our patio too, enjoying the coolish but not too cold yet weather (around 22). We sit out there and have our morning tea or lunch and then Grace has a little play. Your deck looks like a lovely spot to enjoy, your Dusk chandelier is really pretty and your gorgeous tablecloth and vase of flowers compliment it perfectly. Maybe one day I'll be able to sit out there and enjoy a cuppa with you while our two bubs play xx

  10. Thanks ladies and yes the patio heaters are the best.
Tesse - it doesn't seem to go through too much gas. We used it for most of last winter and never had to replace the bottle!

  11. Love the chandelier, looks beautiful hanging over those roses. I wish I was spending time outside but Melbourne has been freezing. Apparently it is going to warm up later in the week so might get to sit out. Gx
