Back to school...... Guest Speaker at ISCD

I had an interesting day today as I was a guest speaker at the International School of Colour and Design in North Sydney to a Surface Design class.

It was really nice to give my talk and to meet the lovely students. I was asked to talk about starting your own business and about my background and to pass on some tips and things I've learnt along the way as a Graphic Designer and business owner.

ISCD is such a nice school, it has such a relaxed and creative feel and peeping into the other studios I could see lots of great work and interesting looking projects going on. If you want to find out more about ISCD then check out their website here.

The way it came about was that I was asked by one of the lecturers at the school, Sharon Gage, to be a guest speaker.

Sharon got in contact with me after getting some prints for her home, which was photographed by House & Garden mag last week for an up and coming issue!

Sharon is really lovely and talented too! She is not only a teacher at ISCD but she is a Stylist and Colour Consultant as well. So look out for her in H&G mag and if you would like to get in contact with her for any colour consulting or styling work then let me know and I'll pass on her details to you!

Here are some pics that Sharon kindly took of my prints in her lovely home on the day of the shoot. Fingers crossed they get included in the mag.

So yes, it was nice 'going back to school' today and I hope my talk was encouraging and inspiring for the students.

Hope you've had a great Monday,

Looking forward to buying the H & G and the family rules look fab - I must get back to you about that some time this week! Oh, and you're too modest to mention your print's appearance on the influential Swiss Miss blog! You are having such a good run at the moment - well done! J x

  13. Janette, thank you for showcasing the beautiful Sharon Gage. She was my educator when I did the Diploma in Surface Design at iscd a couple of years ago. I did a little bit of teaching there last year also. Have recently been back in contact with her, but haven't caught up with her yet. So need to sit down and have a chat with her. I miss her smile...Terese
