7 things you may not know about me

I was the lucky recipient of a blog award from the lovely Jane of 'Life on Planet Baby'.
Jane is a fairly recent blogger and such a lovely person and great writer, go check out her blog today if you haven't already!

As part of the blog award I have to list 7 things you don't already know about me.

1. I used to play piano, guitar and base guitar, well I can still play, just not as well. And when I was about 15 I was in a little high school garage band and we got to go into the 2day FM studio to compete in a 'Silverchair' battle of the bands but then as we plugged in all our equipment into the one little power board the power board blew and we couldn't perform. I was quite glad deep down because I was so nervous!

2. I lost my mobile phone and fav handbag on the plane ride over to Fiji, I only realised when I got home! Oh well, my new iPhone arrived yesterday and I'm loving it!
Hey I'd love your option, which iPhone case should I get, I can't decide between this silver one or this stripy one?

3. I've always loved interiors, when I was a kid I used to wake up in the morning and rearrange all the furniture in the family room. Then when Mum and Dad got up they'd come in and go 'Hmmmm..... not bad, I think we'll leave it that way'.

4. I was a Nanny when I left school

5. Will is currently demolishing the bottom cupboard in the kitchen and when I went in to stop him he looks so happy and he tried to pull the cupboard door closed on himself so I wouldn't see him. Advice please, should I stop him from doing things like that or leave him to play happily?

6. When people would ask me what my dream job would be I would say a reporter on Getaway. Who wouldn't want a job where you get paid to travel the world. Well my second cousin is a reporter on Getaway so I think maybe my wish came true, it just skipped a family tree line or two on the way to me :)
I'm not complaining though, I have my dream job!

Can you guess which one I'm related to?

7. And from that, the final thing you may not know about me is that 'Dundas' is my maiden name.

Sorry I turned that more in to a quiz or a 'please give me advice' thing. Oh well, I hope it was entertaining anyway.

Have a lovely day everyone,

  1. Tell me who! Katrina Rowntree? I have always loved her ever since her early days as a rather excellent DJ on Triple J. xoxo

  2. You used to love demolishing the bottom kitchen drawer! It had plastic spatulas and other such things that were okay for little ones to handle.

You also loved unpacking your bottom bedroom drawer. We'd just stuff it all back in when you'd finished! You seemed happy with one drawer in each room.

  3. Love these posts - it's so nice to get a little background info on my fave blog buddies. And don't worry about your little man, soon he'll be too big to fit in the cupboard anyway! K xx

  4. Great to know more about you Janette! Never would have picked you as a former rock star :) You must have been very relaxed on holidays to not notice your missing phone & bag! I like the silver iPhone cover. I would let will play with the cupboards, I always found if you pulled the kids away from something it seemed more alluring and they would keep going back. I would wait for Will to get bored with it and move on to something else :) xx

  9. Oh, Janette, thanks for your sweet words. I'm so thrilled we could discover more about you. You should make it a regular series! As for the iPhone case, I adore the Cath Kidston one Jane posted about recently. Have you seen it? I agree with Simone's tip about the cupboards. Mind you, I'm not letting 13 month old Sam into mine yet! Oh, and could you do a post on being a nanny? I'd love to hear more. Hope you're getting back into the swing of things after your delightful sojourn. J x

  12. I love learning more about my bloggy buddies. What a bummer about the handbag! But nice to have a new phone :)
I love that about the rock band. I played the drums at High School as well as I was the only coordinated person in my class. I didn't have to play in front of anyone though. How funny about blowing up your band's big opportunity. Oh well :)

  14. What great trivia about yourself Janette! Grace has a favourite drawer in the kitchen she loves attacking too (we put child-locks on the doors where glasses etc are stored). What a bummer about your bag/phone - I'm sure you'll love your new one though - I like the silver cover. Have a lovely evening xx

  15. Great list! A closet muso hey! Re your little man and the cupboards: I made sure the kitchen cupboard that my youngest lad was fascinated with had the noisiest saucepans in it. He would be joyous, making heaps of noise with them all and would give me the biggest toothless grin every time he visited his cupboard. I think I have a photo of him in it somewhere. He can't wait til grade four as I am letting him start a second instrument - percussion! Piano and melodies first though! A-M xx
