Helping Haiti

Thank you everyone for your lovely comments on yesterday's post, it means so much to me!!!

And I've got more good news today... as the end of the My Sweet Prints 'Helping Haiti' campaign (hehehe, campaign sounds more official doesn't it!) has drawn to a close as of midnight last night. So the total that is going to Médecins Sans Frontières Australia www.msf.org.au is (drum roll please...) $ 164.20 AUD! Thank you to everyone who purchased a print in the last month to help raise money for this much needed cause. Let's continue to keep the people of Haiti in our thoughts and prayers as they try to recover from this terrible disaster.

So I said last week that I'd share about my surprise trip out on the weekend for Valentine's day! Well he took me to Wiseman's Ferry which is a little old town just outside of Sydney and we had a delicious lunch at a restaurant overlooking the golf course down there. I had the Salmon and it was soooo yummy! It was really nice to get out just the two of us to somewhere that we wouldn't usually go. On the way home we stopped at a nursery in Dural for coffee and I had the biggest slice of Lemon Meringue Pie you've ever seen! (I wish I'd got a photo of it so you could see just how high the fluffy meringue was).

Here is a picture of the beautiful flowers he got me which I put in my Grandma's vase. And the photo you can (sort of) see is of Will at about 4days old on hubby's hand - so precious!

I hope you have a wonderful day and thanks again my wonderful blog friends!

  1. Fantastic fund-raising effort Janette - congratulations! Your Valentine's Day outing sounds fabulous!! Love Wiseman's Ferry, we used to live in Cherrybrook (after we moved from Chatswood) so used to do the drive out to Wiseman's Ferry on a Sunday:) Love Flower Power at Dural, was that the nursery you went to? So happy you had such a wonderful day, how gorgeous are those flowers in your Grandmother's vase and that sweet photo of William!! Thanks for sharing your lovely day here. ~ Tina x

  3. Hi Janette, was wondering how your Valentine's surprise went. What a lovely day you were treated to. My mouth is watering thinking of that lemon meringue pie!! Gorgeous flowers - I have a similar crystal vase from my Grandmother too :) and what a gorgeous pic of Will - I love those baby photos they do like that when bubs are so tiny. Congratulations on raising all that money for the Haiti appeal x

  4. Oh Janette, I love Swanes too! We used to get all of our roses from them:) There is/was a gorgeous little nursery at Galston called Gardenshades (I think) and our mother's group from Turramurra used to go their every month for a lunch, it was really gorgeous! I can't believe how much we have in commmon!! Again, so happy to hear what a lovely Valentine's Day you had:) ~ Tina x
