Stockist in the Spotlight: Red Plum Linen

 

Today I am very excited to share with you the gorgeous brand red plum linen, which is one of my stockists. The very clever lady behind red plum linen is Sura Bolt. 

Sura and I have been working together for over a year now. I have customised a range of my prints to match her bedding range colourways.  

red plum linen has everything from bed linen, bedside lamps, cushions, blankets, rugs and of course prints, that all tie in together to instantly create a stunning bedroom.

Tell us about your shop
red plum linen offers a tailor made range of bedding and accessories for babies, children and adults. The products are all made here in Sydney from our own, unique fabric designs of which there are now over 50 to chose from. This allows customers to create a truly individual bedroom that will tie in with their overall interior design.

When did you open your shop? and what was the motivator behind opening your shop/starting your own business?

My inspiration for starting red plum came from having a family and looking for the style of bedding that i wanted for my daughter’s nursery. I had a background in fashion and manufacturing so started red plum back in 2001 with a limited range of mainly babies bedding. This has grown progressively to the point where we now have almost 60 fabric designs and products that suit any age group. As my daughter approaches her teens she still inspires me to introduce new designs and her younger brother has prompted designs more suited to little boys.


 
What is the biggest challenge?
Definitely the biggest challenge is striking a balance between work and home life.


 
What is the greatest reward?
Hearing from happy customers and getting repeat orders from people that I have sold to many years previously.


 
What's planned for the future of your shop?
I continue to develop new fabrics and products and am currently working on a gorgeous damask which will be available in about 4 weeks and a soon to be launched range of tableware.

    What beautiful designs and lovely for people that aren't keen on Dora the Explorer for their childs' room. I'll have to check if out and look forward to seeing a tableware range. Have a lovely week Janette x

    I love Red Plum linen....I always try and specify australian made items for designs and have specified Red Plum a few times!

    I absolutely LOVE Red Plum Linen and Sura is such a fabulous person to deal with. I bought Red Plum Linen for my son's nursery, and have also gone back and bought more for his "big boys bedroom" too!

    I love red plum linen and my daughter Olivia has the cushion and lamp in her bedroom and my son archer has the name cushion. Good luck with your prints I have no doubt it will be a great success..
