DIY outdoor artwork

Today I thought I'd show you a little DIY artwork I've been working on.

About a month ago I saw an old weathered pallet on the side of the road. And I thought Hmmm.... I think I could do something with that. So I pulled over and heaved it into the back of the car.

Poor hubby, I think he must think I'm a bit crazy when I bring things like this home.

So I got out the crowbar and asked him to help me pull the extra planks off; the side ones and those two on the top so that it's just the flat planks and their backing ones.

And then I used our outdoor Dulux weathershield paint to paint a white silhouette of leaves etc onto it.

And here is how it came out...

Hubby loves it and I think we've found the perfect spot in the garden to hang it!

I love re purposing/recycling things!

  8. That's a great idea Janette. Lyn brought home some pallets lately but made crates for his homebrew out of them. They're a multi-use item, these pallets!
