Minky

Just a short post to say that if you wouldn't mind saying a little prayer for our cat Minky today as he is quite sick :(

He was acting a bit strange last night then this morning he couldn't walk properly. I've just taken him to the vet and the vet found a massive paralysis tick on him!

He is staying at the vet now to get the anti venom put into him and to be monitored etc.

The vet is also going to shave him - so goodbye fluffy kitty, hello skinny rat.

Minky lounging on the outdoor table last week

I just hope that he can get through this, as tick bites can be fatal so if you could please say a little prayer for Minky that would be very much appreciated!

I'll keep you posted on his progress when I find out more later.

And thank you so much everyone for the fantastic response so far to my giveaway, I'm very excited about it.

Have a great day everyone,

  5. Im very sorry to hear that.I understand how you feel. I have much experience nursing sick animals due to those awful things (I grew up on a property) our dogs got them all the time, this was before the days of effective preventative treatments, we had to check them daily. It sounds like you got him there in time, I hope all goes well and he is strong enough to get through, thinking of you. Megan xx

  7. So sorry to hear about Minky. Is he a Birman? We used to call our cat our first born. He was burmese, and moved fromm Sydney to Brissie with us. Sadly a snake bite killed him; still makes me sad. Those ticks are awful in Sydney. I hope, hope, hope all goes well with the vet and Minky is okay. xx
