White Walls...

Over the weekend my sister-in-law and I were analysing white paint colours for her new house.

I love white as you know, but there is one way to get yourself confused in 10 seconds flat and that's analysing white paint swatches.

Anyway, here are some pics of rooms with white walls which I love, aren't they great!?!?!

I love those colours, and that framed fabric artwork is gorgeous isn't it!!!

What a soothing room, I love all the white/cream tones in this room.

Very sophisticated..

Black, white and blue, you can never go wrong with that combo.

Ok so this one isn't white but it looks like the same blue I have in my home and still love.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

And on another note, here are the bunny cupcakes I decorated for Billy's 1st birthday party.

I have to admit that I ran out of time on Saturday to bake so I just cheated and bought the cupcakes which had little blue and pink flowers on top, took the flowers off carefully with a toothpick then stuck the lollies on . I put green food colouring through dessicated coconut to be grass and then placed the flowers and mini M&Ms to look like a flowering field.
The kids loved them.

And here is the birthday boy, 'Billy Bun-bun Baker', sorry not a great photo...

How was your weekend and do you have any white paint recommendations for me???

Have a lovely day,

  1. How cute are those cupcakes! I'm sure Billy loved his pressie.
Love the idea of white walls but it is so hard to get a "true" white. Lots of paint samples ahead :)

  2. I know what you mean about white being confusing. I hope to paint my hallway white (the next job on the list) but have found it confusing. There are also so many "whites" that I don't consider to be white at all - but that's another story.
The cupcakes look so gorgeous! I can see why they were a hit xx

  3. Hi Janette, Love the images you have shown. Our house is Antique White USA (Dulux) on the walls with Vivid white trim. Those cupcakes looks yummy!!! We spent the weekend by the pool and got a little sunburnt - naughty! ;-)

  6. Hi Janette, what a gorgeous bunny. I had one like that.. I love the cupcakes, they look great! We've used Haymes 'White' in our family room. I went through a lot of different samples and this one was the best, not too bright! Rachaelxx

  10. I had Dulux White on White in my last house & am painting the beach house in Dulux Whisper White. They are both very different whites. Whisper White is a warmer white than White on White. But I love them both.

Seeing as I didn't get to go to Billy Bun Bun Baker's party could I have a patty cake please.... licks illy the cuddly xo

  11. Hi, I just wanted to pass on the following.... Dulux Antique White USA is a fantastic white, it's a warm white as opposed to a stark or bright white, Ive used in in two house renovations now! Cupcakes are gorgeous!

  12. Loving those bunnies - knew you'd do a great job! I have Dulux Vivid White on my ceiling with this in double strength for the trim (with Dulux Ecru on the walls), and White on White in another room. They make too many for us to get confused at choosing just one. Love the combo of the white, blue and black.

  13. Dulux antique white usa seems to be very popular. I don't think you can get swatches anymore but they will make up a sample pot if you ask.
Love the bunny cakes, sounds like my kind of baking.

  14. Hey Janette, love those cup cakes, very cute!
I love white walls, my understanding of choosing the perfect white is that its very important to know the undertones of the other things in the room like flooring etc as well as the amount of natural light in the room.Im liking Dulux natural white at the moment very clean but a bit softer than a vivid white.
    good Luck!!!

I have Haymes Whitewash all through my house and I love it....a nice warm white that doesn't throw yellow, pink or grey!

  16. We are totally a Dulux Whisper White house. I initially picked it as a colour for my yet-to-be-born baby's room and while relaying the paint name to a friend she told me her whole house was painted WW. So I did the same! Really love the colour - good luck choosing!
