I was reading the latest Real Living mag and finding it as inspirational as always.
But I was wondering, what do you think about painting your floor bright blue?
It looks so fantastic, so fresh bright and happy but would you be 'bold and brave' enough to do it?
Maybe if I had a little beach cottage I would; a place where you didn't have to live with it day in and day out.
It would be a bright, fun eclectic little weatherboard cottage with white VJ panelled walls, and an old fire place with driftwood and large shells in the hearth during summer and a pair of old art deco chairs upholstered in a Florence Broardhurst fabric. I would have to put three of my Nature in Print coral prints framed down a hallway or in the sun room and I'd relocate my peacock chair down to the beach cottage to sit on the verandah in. Can you picture it?
What about you? Would you try a dramatic floor treatment? I'd love to know!
Wishing a bright sunny day,
Janette xx
I agree with you, I loved it, loved the colour, but on an everyday basis I think it would be too much for me. As you say, it would be perfect in a beach house. How amazing would it be to have a beach house, blue floor or not!

I could never live with something as bold as a blue floor, beach house or not. I think a beach house should be calm and relaxing and a blue floor doesn't meet that criteria. Although having said that I would love to visit this house and see it for real as it probably looks quite different in real life. I do admire anyone who is bold enough to try something different when decorating. xT
ReplyDeleteI'd never paint a floor blue inside...but having blue verandah floor..it would be beautiful with white wicker furniture and white weatherboards behind it. I bought this mag today too and I noticed that the walls in the house were very white and plain..I think they would have to be this way too. I don't think I would like it as the paint began to wear in the traffic areas and scrape with the furniture..could begin to look very messy.
ReplyDeleteI would never have thought to do it, but, seeing these pics I think it would be great in a little seaside weekender.
