Thrifty Tuesday

I'm doing my first ever linking up post EVER today - exciting!

I thought I'd take part in Anna's (aka Cornflake's) Thrifty Tuesday post where she's asked people to share their favourite thrift finds.

So here goes....


My favourite thrifty find of all time is my little flower clock I bought for $5 at Balmain markets about 10 years ago. I loved the design the minute I saw it as it reminded me of something of my Grandparents era. It was made in West Germany and I don't know but I'd think around the 50's??? What do you think? (sorry it needs a good dust and brasso as it is sitting in a bit of a forgotten corner of our house at the moment).

The other items in this pic are my brass tea pot which was also a thrift find but I can't for the life of me remember where I bought it, it was only a few dollars though.

Then my other favourite thrift find were the two books in the background. They are both over 100 years old. One is on Chopin the other on Brahms. I've read the Chopin one, it was really interesting and quite funny to read something written in such 'old english' :)
I bought them from a garage sale in Whale Beach.

That round thing sitting on top of the books isn't a thrift find, it's a compass I bought for Glen a few years ago down in Gerringong. I think it was when we were house hunting and Glen would always get his little key ring compass out to check if the house faced north.
