World Map print on SALE
Have you had your eye on one of our Customised World Map prints for yourself or as a gift for the little person/people in your life?
Well now's the time to get one because for the first time the World Map prints are 20% off for a very limited time.
Only available on www.MySweetPrints.com.au, my Etsy Shop and Down That Little Lane.
In other news, my sister-in-law is starting today working for My Sweet Prints!
She is going to run the business while Baby B is a newbie. I am very lucky, she is an Accountant and former Finance Director for a large company so she is TOTALLY over qualified to look after my 'other baby' :)

My Favourite Oscars gowns
I thought I'd post my fav Oscars gowns today - I love seeing all the pretty dresses, jewels and hairstyles on the redcarpet. So I've chosen my top 5 favourite dresses...
Gwyneth looked stunning, very statuesque in this white caped gown. I thought her hair and silver cuff were perfect in finishing off the outfit.
Emma stone looked beautiful, very classic and I just really like her as an actress. But as soon as I saw her dress I thought of Nicole Kidman's dress from a few years ago so googled 'Emma Stone Nicole Kidman dress' and sure enough...
I prefer Emma's version with the waist band. Which version do you prefer?
And I just love to see women embracing their pale skin - because I've got pale skin too :)
J.Lo's general style is a bit too showy/blingy for me but I loved this gown, embracing her curves and I like the way the lines of the dress work.
I thought Natalie Portman looked gorgeous. This is my style of dress/jewels etc. It's probably not 'Oscar-y' enough but it's quite old-school. You can picture the 1950's starlets in something like this can't you.
But my favourite dress was Penelope Cruz's grey/blue off the shoulder dress.
This would be the dress I'd choose to wear if I could pick one for myself. As you can tell I like the old Hollywood classic styles.
Which dress was your favourite?
And what did you think about Ange sticking her leg out like that in EVERY single photo?
Not to my liking (but maybe I'm just jealous, hehehe).
Have a very glam day everyone,

Toilet training...
Here is a mummy confession:
Will has been really good with his toilet training... and it's been me that's been holding him back.
I think I get so tired of asking him so often when he needs to go and stressing that he's going to have an accident when we're out that I've taken the easy option of putting him in Pull-Ups too often and now it's confused him.
I'm going to have to go hard with the toilet training and just stick him in undies for everything but sleep time and just deal with the accidents (even when there are two accidents before 9am when you are trying to clean and tidy for your open house at 10am as happened yesterday).
I've decided I just need a fairy godmother to deal with the mess and extra washing for me, then it would be a breeze :) Oh if only.

I'd never get him off the toilet. Image via here.
Did you have toilet training stress like me?
Please pray for patience for me. I've been muttering this prayer a lot lately with all the goings on at the moment:
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference.
Courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference.
Have a great day everyone, and thank you for the Mummy vent,

New Print - Frankly My Dear
Thank you everyone for your lovely congrats comments yesterday re our new house. I'm still over the moon and mentally decorating in any available daydreaming moment :)
Anyway I thought I'd show you a new print which I just launched yesterday.
I was commissioned to design it and just love it because it's one of my all time favourite movies.

And don't you find yourself saying it to yourself sometimes eg... when you hear 'Mummy I don't want this for dinner' etc :)
You can find it in my shop www.MySweetPrints.com.au
And I just had to throw in a pic of Rhett and Scarlet - love the black and white stripe dress!
Ah... they don't make movies like they use to.

We bought a house...
Some exciting news at My Sweet Prints HQ.... we bought a new house on the weekend! AHHH!
Ek, now we have to sell our house... and have a baby... and then move (hopefully all in that order, hehehe).
We've arranged a long settlement so that we will have Baby B here and then move.
I really love the new house and I CAN'T WAIT to share photos when we move in.
It's got a large space which will be my dedicated work area 'Haaaaaalllelujah!'
We weren't even looking to move but feel in love with the house and it's been a bit all-consuming over the last few weeks in the lead up and negotiations etc. And so if I'm not blogging so much over the next few weeks it's probably because I'm cleaning and tidying for the two open houses a week (oh my goodness, how exhausting!)
I've already started a Pinterest pinboard to collect all my inspiration for the new house. You can follow the 'New House Inspiration' board here: http://pinterest.com/mysweetprints/new-house-inspiration/ and it will give you a little idea of the style of the house.
Anyway, that's the excitement going on here :)
Have a great day everyone,

I was very excited to see my Name Meaning Silhouette Print in the latest issue of Shop4kids.
It was also great to see two of my friends work on the same page! Suzie of Urban Road and Maree of Little Branch.
I was also excited to see my World Map print in one of the nursery features.
Have a great day, I've had the flu which is why I'm off the blogging radar at the moment.

Little Love
I'm trying to raise a little romantic.... So when Will and I saw these cute cookies at Coles this morning we bought three of them.
One for Will, one for his BFF girlfriend Sylvie and one for his other girlfriend LouLou.
The three of them do private swimming lessons together on a Monday afternoon at a house down the road.
We made a card for each girl using my heart hole punch.
Here are the words Will wanted to say in Sylvie's card.... 'Cheeeeese', 'Biscuits', 'Angelina', 'My be ballerina'.
The three of them ate their biscuits after swimming together.
And here are the two BFFs at Sylvie's Angelina Ballerina party at the weekend - so cute!

Homegrown
We picked our first tomatoes yesterday from our veggie patch.
I think we could have left them for an extra day or two on the vine but we were too excited :)
Have you grown anything lately?

Baby B nursery moodboard
You might remember when I blogged about Will's new room moodboard I said that I would probably leave his old room as is for Baby B as I didn't feel like decorating two rooms in a short space of time?
Well.... hehehe, do you think I could be sensible and stick to that decision? NO, the decorating bug bites hard and so here is Baby B's new nursery moodboard.
I've bought the cute whale fabric from Funky Fabrix and I'm using the teal, light blue, reddy/orange and orange as my colour palette as well as navy as the base. I'm going to make a cot blanket, cushion covers and cover the existing light shade with the fabric.
I've purchased the felt to make the rainbow cloud mobile (in the colour scheme colours only). I've got the navy curtains and because the one wall is already painted light blue I'm going to hang white tissue paper pom poms as clouds above the cot.
I think we'll get an ikea Poang chair to be my feeding chair but the navy one.
And I've designed the 'Somewhere over the Rainbow print' esp for Baby B (but might make it a new series to add to the shop - what do you think?) and I'll hang two chevron patterned prints on either side of it.
What do you think? I'd love your feedback! Any other ideas?
Thank you for your lovely comments on my new hair yesterday, I'm still getting used to it when I look in the mirror :)

New Hair & a bump pic
Firstly thank you all for your advice re my change of hair colour :)
The general consensus seemed to be to go for the auburn with blonde highlights.
So when I got to the hairdresser I told her what I was thinking and then she got the owner to talk to me about the colour and I thought Hmmmm.... this is exactly what Trish said in her comment yesterday:
"Ok Janette, this ones right up my alley because I am a hairdresser!!!!
if you visit the same hairdresser all of the time he/she will give you great advice because they know you as a client, but being pregnant generally changes the rules. Often when pregnant at the time when you become really sick of your new body shape you will often opt for a change of hair to feel better, it usually results in one of those "hormonal" emotional melt downs, so NO good hairdresser would advise this. I would recommend a mix of auburn & blonde foils, perhaps a dark blonde & a lighter blonde, nothing to radical, to give you that slow progression towards going a little darker."

Which is basically what the hairdresser recommended too :) hehehe thanks Trish for the heads up!
So here are the results...
(it's hard to get a good pic as the colour looks so different in different lights)
Not quite as auburn-y as I'd planned but quite a lot darker all over and the 'safety' of the blonde over the top.
It's much closer to my natural colour so 'woo-hoo less regrowth!'
29 weeks
And here is a 'Baby B' bump update pic thrown in for good measure :)
So thanks again for the hair help! I wonder what Glen will think when he gets home :)
Have a great evening,
