Royal Wedding Day

I don't know about you but I'm SO excited about the Royal Wedding.

The hype here in Australia has been amazing so I can't begin to imagine what it's like over in the UK. A friend of mine who lives in England said that there are flags, bunting and souvenirs EVERYWHERE.

I wish my Grandma was still alive as she loved the Royals and it would have been fun to watch the wedding with her. (I was too young to watch Charles and Di's wedding so this is my first real Royal wedding).

When the Queen came out to Australia in 1954 my Grandma, who was 7mths pregnant with my Mum, went into the city and braved the crowds to catch a glimpse of the young Queen.

Here is the Queen and Prince Phillip on their wedding day, what an amazing train.

Here are some other famous brides, and Kate will now be added to this group after today, how exciting for her. Imagine how her parents feel!
Apparently the Abbey has been transformed into a woodland with trees and foliage everywhere - can't wait to see it!

Are you excited or you just don't care?

I'll be getting ready for Will's 2nd birthday party while I'm watching the wedding, if I wasn't going to be running around I'd get out my wedding dress and watch the wedding in my dress :) hehehehe I know I'm a hopeless romantic sucker :)

Have a right royal day and enjoy!

Design a Room: Purple modern/tribal nursery

I had a bit of fun this morning designing a room using some of my fellow bloggers shops and using my Keep Quite the Baby's Sleeping print as inspiration.

I think this would make a very cool nursery for a little one, the type of room that could take you from baby to little girl and beyond. I love the modern tribal feel to it and I've always been a fan of purple.

2. Print from My Sweet Prints
3. Juju Hat from Table Tonic
4. Cushion from Table Tonic
5. Cushion from Ada and Darcy

What do you think? Would you go for something like this?

Have a great day everyone, and if you haven't already, head on over to my www.facebook.com/mysweetprints page and hit the old 'like' button. When we reach 350 likers there will be a sale announced!

Customers share their photos

Today I am excited to share with you, photos that two of my lovely customers have sent through.

The first one is from Natalie in London and her gorgeous little son in his nursery with our Bedtime Bus Roll Poster above the chair. I asked Natalie where she got those great curtains from and they are from Ikea! Natalie is an illustrator, designer & prop maker and you can check out her fantastic work via her facebook page here.

The next photo is from a lovely customer Alissa from Sydney who had a 'Made with Love' print made for her little bub Sam. Here is a pic of it in his nursery. I love how she has matched the print colour to the cushion on the chair and the little owl hanging from Sam's cot. So sweet!

So thank you ladies for sharing your photos with us. I just love seeing my prints in their new happy homes, i hope you enjoyed seeing them too!

And thank you for your comments on my new Family Scroll print yesterday. I think it would make a fantastic Mother's day gift.

Have a great day,

Ideas: Hanging pictures

I love checking out the ways that people display their photos/prints/artworks.
You can get so much inspiration. Take a look at some goodies I've found...

Love the two frames one above the other and the way it ties into the black chest and that gorgeous wallpaper!
I'm a huge fan of floating shelves and I really like the way that this wall combines frames sitting on the shelves as well as hanging around them.

Very sweet for a nursery, I've seen some vintage alphabet cards framed this way - so cute!

You could always just go crazy on one wall with the same theme.

Or subtle and sophisticated, white frames on a grey wall, very chic.

But I think I like this one the best - my sort of colours and I love the way that the frames really add height to the room.

Which version do you like best?

Happy Easter by the way!
We went away camping but had to come back after only one night as Will got Tonsillitis poor bub!

Have a great day,

Hamptons Style

I can't help but love Hampton's style homes, I think it's my all time fav style of home/architecture. So I did some real estate stalking this morning at www.hamptonsrealestate.com and look what I found amongst other things...

Love the colours of this house

And that outdoor entertaining area is very Australia isn't it!

Love the ceiling and decor in this room

If you think the kitchen looks good from this angle then check this out...

Is that not a MASSIVE fire place?!?!

Love the modern decor in this bedroom

This one would make a great guest room don't you think?

Stunningly simple but elegant bathroom

Heaven

So what do you think? You can see MANY more pics of this house here.

And with the Aussie dollar being so strong at the moment, maybe US$9.5mil doesn't seem so much??? NO it still does!

What is your fav style of house/architecture?

Have a great day everyone,

My $20 floor lamp

Here is my new $20 floor lamp!

I had been wanting a floor lamp to go next to 'my spot' on the lounge for a while. And I knew the look I was after. So I searched on ebay and found this one...

'Fantastic Retro Vintage Teak Mid Century Floor Lamp' but I forgot to bid and it ended and I was disappointed. It went for $49.95 + postage so I knew the rough price I'd be needing to pay for the base.

Anyway, literally the next day I was driving down the road taking Will to little school and what did I see lying on the grass out the front of a house... two floor lamp bases!

So on the way back I pulled over and checked them out and what do you know one of them was almost exactly like the ebay one I wanted. It wasn't broken or scratched or dirty or anything so I grabbed it and put it into the back of my car (I love my Outback station wagon for getting all my neighbourhood finds).

I put a bulb in and carefully check that it worked and it did!!! (I shielded my eyes so that if there were sparks and bangs I'd be 'protected') hehehehe.

Then I went to Target and bought an off white suede look lamp shade for $20. And here it is!

It's so cosy sitting in the lamp light.

Have you had any bargain finds lately????

Have a great Monday,

Which suits her perfectly because she's always been a cheeky monkey :)

Happy Birthday Kate - love you!

And how cool is this idea! Turn a wine glass upside down and use as a cupcake stand!

Here are some more interesting wine glass uses I found on pintrest. I'm linking up with Kate for her pintrest finds!

Have a great day, I hope you don't get fooled and you manage to fool someone.

P.S. Thanks for your lovely messages re Will's croup. He is on the mend now which is great and we had a pretty good night sleep last night - ahhhh.
